How to Install BitLife APK on Android (Step by Step)

By BitLife APK Hub · · 4 min read

To install the BitLife APK, download the file, allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps, open the file and tap Install. It takes a few minutes on Android 7.0 or newer, mostly spent waiting for the download. This guide walks through each step, explains the settings you may see on different phones, and fixes the errors people hit most often.

This site is an independent download guide, not the publisher of BitLife. If you would rather install through the official channel, the game is also listed on Google Play.

What you need before you start

  • An Android phone or tablet running Android 7.0 or newer.
  • Enough free storage. The file is 306 MB (version v3.24.5), and Android needs extra room while it unpacks the app, so keep more than the file size free.
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection for the download.

APK files only work on Android. They cannot be installed on iPhone or iPad.

How to install the BitLife APK (5 steps)

  1. Download the file. Open the BitLife APK download page and tap the download button. Wait until the browser shows the download as finished.
  2. Open the file. Tap the finished download in your notification shade, or find it in your Downloads folder using a file manager.
  3. Allow unknown apps when asked. Android blocks installs from outside the Play Store by default. If a prompt appears, tap Settings and switch on Allow from this source for the app you used to open the file (see the next section for where this lives on each Android version).
  4. Tap Install. Go back, tap Install, and wait for the progress bar to finish.
  5. Open BitLife. Tap Open, or launch it later from your app drawer.

Allow unknown apps on your Android version

The wording differs a little between phone brands, but the setting is the same.

Android 8.0 and newer

Permission is granted per app. When you open the APK, Android shows a prompt naming the app you used (for example Chrome or Files). Tap Settings, then turn on Allow from this source. You can switch it off again after the install. You can also find it manually under Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps.

Android 7.0 and 7.1

Permission is a single global switch. Go to Settings > Security and turn on Unknown sources, then open the APK again. Turn it back off after installing.

Fix “App not installed” and other install errors

If the install fails, work through these in order:

  1. Free up storage. Delete unused apps or old downloads, then try again. Low space is the most frequent cause.
  2. Download the file again. A dropped connection can leave an incomplete file. Delete it and download a fresh copy on a stable connection.
  3. Uninstall an existing BitLife. If you already have BitLife from the Play Store, Android may refuse to install a copy signed differently over it. Uninstall the old one first. Uninstalling removes local app data, so make sure your progress is not tied only to that device before you do.
  4. Check your Android version. This build needs Android 7.0 or newer. On older versions you will see a “parse error” or the install will not start.
  5. Look at Google Play Protect. Play Protect may show a scan prompt for apps installed from outside the Play Store. You can let it scan the file, or choose to continue if you trust where you downloaded it.
  6. Restart the phone and try the install again.

Is it safe to install an APK from outside the Play Store?

Only install APK files from sources you trust, and keep Play Protect switched on. Be careful with files labelled “mod”, “hack” or “unlimited money”: they are repackaged by unknown third parties and can carry malware or get your account banned. The file on our Download page is the direct, unmodified APK, not a mod. For the longer explanation, see our FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to root my phone to install the BitLife APK?

No. A normal APK install only needs the “install unknown apps” permission for the app you open the file with (your browser or file manager). Rooting is not required.

Why does Android say “App not installed” for BitLife?

The most common causes are not enough free storage, a corrupted or incomplete download, or an existing BitLife install (for example from the Play Store) that was signed differently. Free up space, re-download the file, and uninstall the old copy if needed.

Which Android version does the BitLife APK need?

The build on our Download page requires Android 7.0 or newer.

Will this APK work on iPhone or iPad?

No. APK is an Android-only file format and cannot be installed on iOS.
